MyRide TN Southeast and COVID-19
MyRide TN Southeast provides an essential service to older adults. Many of the appointments our riders have are integral to sustaining their health and wellbeing. As such, we are continuing to provide limited services while providing equipment and instructions to both our riders and driver so they can maintain appropriate social distance.
Our volunteer's health and safety, as well as the safety of the vulnerable seniors we serve, are always our #1 priority.
The guidelines listed below have been developed by the MyRide TN Southeast program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for the safety of our volunteer drivers, our riders, and our staff and will remain in effect until it has been deemed safe by state and local officials to lift additional safety precautions and resume normal service activity.
Stay Home if You Are Sick
If you develop a fever, cough/difficulty breathing, or any other COVID-19 symptoms, do not volunteer or take any scheduled rides. Please seek medical attention and do not return to volunteering/riding until cleared by a physician.
Program Changes
-
At this time, only absolutely necessary trips can be requested by Riders (such as medical, grocery, and pharmacy trips).
-
MyRide will be working with Riders to find alternate ways to assist when possible, such as facilitating grocery or pharmacy delivery.
-
Ride Guidelines
-
In order to maintain social distancing of 6 feet while providing rides:
-
-
-
We will be limiting physical assistance as much as possible.
-
Riders will be asked to sit in the back seat.
-
Volunteers can still assist with opening doors but should refrain from entering the residence or destination, particularly during medical appointments.
-
-
-
Drivers and Riders should wear face coverings.
-
Remember to wash hands before and after volunteering/riding and use sanitizer after contact with frequently touched surfaces. Wipe down seats, doors, handles, and other surfaces touched by the Rider with disinfectant after each trip.
COVID-19 Notice of Exposure
Any MyRide volunteer driver, rider and/or staff person must report to the MyRide Coordinator if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, so that the proper testing, notification, and contact tracing, according to the CDC guidelines, can be conducted to reduce the risk of spreading an infection to others associated with the MyRide program. Personal and medical information is kept confidential.
